Yo no pensé que usted me creería.

Shouldn’t this be subjunctive i.e. ‘creyera’ ?

three years late but it’s the conditional, not past tense. And there’s no subjunctive version of the conditional. The conditional tense doesn’t change in situations which would call for the subjunctive.

I wonder about “que me fuera a creer”, but maybe that’s too elaborate?

English Translation

I didn’t think you’d believe me.

@morbrorper, I think it doesn’t make much sense here. Yo te creo o no te creo, opino que no tenía sentido decir te voy a creer.

@waxapax, “fuera a creer” would be the subjunctive of “iba a creer”, which is I believe is synonymous to “creería”.
