Some advice please … The English translation is give as ‘I know where everything goes’, I think this means ‘I know where everything belongs’, as in ‘to put things back in their correct place’. Can zmierzać be used in the same context? Thanks

Not really! The correct English translation for the Polish sentence would be “I know where this is going”.
