Some advice please? The English translation on CM is ‘Will you read this cookbook?’ My understanding is podręcznik is a generic term for any textbook/manual? A cookbook would be ‘książka kucharska’? Thanks

You’re absolutely right. A “cookbook” would be “książka kucharska”, while “podręcznik” means “textbook” / “manual”.

There isn’t any possible context where “podręcznik” = “cookbook”, so it looks like a translation error.
