Be careful, though! It is also one of the most tricky to learn for English speakers. What is so tricky about it, then?<\/p>\n<p>Do not worry, we will explain it all in this article and, once you\u2019re done reading it you will never make a mistake in the <em>piacere <\/em>conjugation again!<\/p>\n<p>Are you ready?<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s look at how to use the Italian verb <em>piacere<\/em>, how to conjugate it, and when to use it in context with examples and dialogues.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"post-4687-_kaxdl79w866c\"><\/a><em>Piacere: <\/em>What Kind of Verb Is It?<\/h2>\n<p><strong><em>Piacere<\/em> is an irregular verb<\/strong>, which means it doesn\u2019t follow the regular pattern of other verbs of the -ERE conjugation. It is employed to talk about tastes and preferences,as you do with the verb \u2018to like\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>You might have noticed, however, that <em>piacere<\/em> needs to be conjugated using personal pronouns (<em>mi, ti, gli, le, ci, vi, gli<\/em>)\u2026<\/p>\n<p>This is because the object and subject are reversed when you use the verb <em>piacere. <\/em>Thus, the Italian equivalent of \u2018I like\u2019 is not <em>io piaccio, <\/em>but <em>mi piace. <\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mi piace<\/strong> Greta. <br>I like Greta.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Le piace<\/strong> il riso in bianco. <br>She likes white rice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a id=\"post-4687-_lc4jtmviig48\"><\/a><em>Piacere <\/em>Conjugation: Who Likes Who?<\/h2>\n<p>A lot of learners consider this verb tricky because it does not follow a \u2018normal\u2019 conjugation. exaggerating now.<\/li>\n<li><em>Mi piacciono le fragole, ma preferisco i lamponi.<br><\/em> I like strawberries, but I prefer raspberries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When turning a sentence into the negative, you just add the usual <em>non <\/em>before the verb (<em>non mi piace<\/em>)<em>. <\/em>Be careful though, if you are using the \u2018strong\u2019 indirect pronouns, the <em>non <\/em>will be placed in between the personal pronoun and the verb (<em>a me non piace<\/em>).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Non<\/em><\/strong><em> ti piace lo yogurt?<br><\/em> Don\u2019t you like yogurt?<\/li>\n<li><em>A and Reciprocal Forms<\/h2>\n<p><em>Piacere<\/em> can also be used in the reflexive and reciprocal forms.<\/p>\n<p>The reflexive, as you might already know, reflects the action back to the speaker and is introduced by a reflexive pronoun:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Io <\/em><strong><em>mi piaccio <\/em><\/strong><em>cos\u00ec come sono.<\/em> <br>I like myself the way I am.<\/li>\n<li><em>Margherita non <\/em><strong><em>si piace<\/em><\/strong><em> con i capelli lisci.<\/em> <br>Margherita doesn\u2019t like herself with straight hair.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The reciprocal form, on the other hand, expresses the concept of \u201ceach other\u201d and is introduced by the impersonal <em>si<\/em>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Giulio e Francesco <\/em><strong><em>si piacciono<\/em><\/strong><em>. <\/em> <br>Giulio and Francesco like each other.<\/li>\n<li><em>Non <\/em><strong><em>si sono mai piaciuti<\/em><\/strong><em> loro due. <\/em> <br>Those two never liked each other.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a id=\"post-4687-_v0m42gzgtxty\"><\/a><em>Piacere<\/em>: Conjugations<\/h2>\n<p>Now that we\u2019ve learned the basic rules of the <em>piacere <\/em>conjugation, and that we know how and when to use it, let\u2019s look at the <em>piacere<\/em> conjugation.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, although the majorioty of times you will only use these two forms, it is useful (and interesting!) to know the whole conjugation of this great verb!<\/p>\n<p>Here, you\u2019ll find <strong>the conjugations divided into levels<\/strong>: from beginner learners to advanced (including those tenses even native speakers can never get right!).<\/p>\n<p>In the following tables, we will use the verb <em>essere <\/em>(to be) as the auxiliary to build compound tenses. <em>Piacere <\/em>always takes the verb \u201cessere\u201d in compound tenses.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, as in all the verbs that take <em>essere <\/em>as an auxiliary, do not forget: the participle <em>piaciuto <\/em>changes in gender and number to agree with the subject (i.e.: <em>piaciuto, piaciuta, piaciuti, piaciute<\/em>)!<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"post-4687-_8hy47ip0ho82\"><\/a><em>Piacere<\/em> Conjugation for Beginners<\/h3>\n<p>First of all, let\u2019s see the most used <strong>conjugations in the indicative mood<\/strong>: the present (<strong><em>presente<\/em><\/strong>), future simple <em>(<\/em><strong><em>futuro
